Moving to New Zealand

Hi all, was hoping for some advice !
We are a family of 7 , hoping to move to NZ , we've spoken to an emigration advisory person today who' s said that fees for paperwork and documentation etc will cost us around 10,000!
Has anyone with a big family been through the process without having to fork that amount out before even getting on a plane ??

Golly, that sounds awful. I am sorry I can't help but wish you all the luck in the world. New Zealand is lovely. If we were younger that is the place we would go.
