Kew Village shopping complex - anyone know it?

I recently overheard 2 mothers raving about "Kew Village" which apparently has a big Mothercare, M&S, Boots etc. I looked in my London A-Z but couldn't see anything near Kew that looked likely. Can anyone help?

LKM - yes, I go there regularly. It's just off the South Circular near Richmond/Kew Gardens, very near the Public Records Office. It's called Richmond Retail Park in the A-Z, I just checked. Where do you live? I cross over Kew Bridge from the north side, head up Kew Bridge Road then fork left onto the A205 (also known as Mortlake Road/South Circular)and it's a turning on the right. Or you can get there from Richmond via the Kew Road.
It's got a big Mothercare, M&S (both with cafes but the coffee's horrible in MC, OK in M&S!) Boots and recently opened JJB Sports and Gap and Baby Gap. You can always get a parking space and can take any trolley from shop to shop so it is ideal for shopping with young children. Another example of Americanisation but it's very convenient!

Fionn, isn't it a left hand turn off A205 (if approaching from Kew bridge direction).. I'm another regular visitor, mainly because of the easy free parking. The mothercare has a row of rocking chairs in the baby feeding room, and a cafe with regular events IMHO nicer than the mothercare world in Watford. The M&S is all on one floor (I think) so not too difficult to get around with a buggy.

Yes Bluebear, sorry, it is left!

LKM, if you look up Mortlake Road, Richmond on www.streetmap.co.uk Kew Village is the blue block marked Superstores. HTH.

Mothercare also has a very comfy feeding room - with those posh chairs and footstools that rock back and forth. Think there's a tv in there too - but it never seemed to work when I used it. Not suggesting that people should hide away when feeding - just that my girlfriends and I used to hijack the place for hours and chill out! (Yes, I know, very sad, but we were new mums and just getting out of the house was an achievement). Both Mothercare and M&S have baby changing rooms and the Mothercare has a play area in the cafe. The coffee might be xxxx but the vanilla slices were bloody marvellous. Having said that it took me about a year to shift them from my thighs....

Thanks everyone. On my A-Z the location you are decribing is labelled "Main Drainage Works"! (1999 edition). I live in central London so probably easiest to approach from the A4 north side as you describe Fionn. We have been up to Bicester clothes shopping which is also good - anyone recommend other Superstore/retail villages around London area? I've heard about Lakeside but I think that is a bit out of London?

It's called Kew Retail Park,on Mortlake Road - it's ok (v handy for me to get to to buy nice foods from M &S -though the range is fairly limited foodwise)- but I wouldn't rave about it.Apparently there's going to be a big Next with a coffee shop opening soon.
