My partner is a redhead and I have 2 girls who are redheads.
Anyway I was chatting with an acquaitance the other day as she was telling me her birth story.
She says to me 'no offence but I told the midwife if my baby was ginger they can put her back in'.
I said that it a horrible thing to say. She then says well I suppose ginger hair looks ok on girls but boys it just looks horrible and odd.
I obviously disagreed with her as my partner is a redhead.
A colleague at work also said that if she was born ginger her mum said she would drown at her birth.
Also when I was pregnant my friend said to me (because my partner is a redhead) 'oh no you are going to have ginger kids ha ha'.
It was like it was the worst thing in the world.
It makes me really worried that my children will get bullied at school for their red hair when grown adults are capable of such nasty comments.
