Hi - I have just moved to a village near Melton Mowbray and was wondering if any other Mums out there could recommend any baby / toddler groups for my 8 month old and I to go along to? I am interested in music groups, gym groups, coffee mornings - anything! We have been searching in vain for some local info in order to meet other Mums/families. Any info/ top tips would be great! Thanks

FABULOUS place called the Activity Barn in Melton Mowbray. It's like a walk in cafe with baby group and toddler toys. You pay £3 per child for the whole day, any time between 10 and 3, and the food and drinks are reasonable.

Loads, I have lived here all my life, lol

there is a M&T at the Oasis Christian Life centre - not church run, they just use the hall. that is Monday morning, 9:30 until 11:30

The Activity Barn runs all sorts of music, baking etc - for when your baby is a bit older.

There is a swimming pool called Waterfield Leisure facilities

That is great - lots to get us started - any village based stuff that you know of?

I have an 11 month old baby, and a nearly 4 year old, so I am 'knowledgable' in what to do round here!

depends which village. Asfordby has a M&T at their church hall, but I think for others you might need to go to Melton. how far away are you?

LGB · 15/03/2007 10:45

near Hose.....

I know of Hose but have never been there. I don't know about any groups there. It's always worth a look at the village hall or church hall though? Or even just collar the vicar and ask him? Where have you moved from?

Bedfordshire so not too far away although it seems miles at the moment!. The local HV is popping in this morning so am going to pick her brains too. Thanks so much for your info, I will try those - best go and sort my small person out!
