Ds has asked me this morning if I will get him some red hair spray for tomorrow.
Problem is, I'm working most of the day and I have no car today (MOT) sooooo.. I have about a 30 minute slot to find this spray,

Apparently (according to ds) sainsbury sell the stuff but it's an hour's walk away.

Does anyone know of anything that will turn his hair red (temporarily) that I can buy from a local chemist, corner shop...?

red food colouring. I haven't used it myself, but I believe it takes about three washes to get out, but you've got the whole weekend.....

Local chemist will probably sell red hair spray as well - sainsburys just do the official red nose stuff, but you can buy it at other times too

have you got any face paints in the house? You can 'paint' hair with a sponge, ds had blue hair the other day - he was being a robot....

where r u sixlostmonkeys? we ahve some red hair spray you can have if your local to me?

serenity · 15/03/2007 09:47

Red food colouring only works on bleached or blond hair (been there, done that) plus if it rains or gets wet you end up with unattractive dribble marks down your face

Now wouldn't it be freaky if it turned out I lived a few streets away from you smeeinit?

I'll check the chemist for the hair spray.
I think I have some face paint stuff from halloween...there's bound to be blood coloured stuff

arr a little too far then!!

sixlostmonkeys · 15/03/2007 10:01

hehe smeeinit - despite the fact that I'd walk to the ends of the earth for my DS if you are more than 15 minutes away, there's no chance

...no doubt though the govt will soon introduce some new law to 'encourage' parents to do this on a regular basis, as well as going back to work, preparing fresh food, taking courses to understand their education, read with children for 16 hours every evening....

...sorry, the morning news has got me all wound up

So, I walked miles and miles today. My blisters have blisters
Everyone had sold out of red hair spray. Orange yellow, blue, green.....no red.
I walked from shop to shop in search of face paint (yeah i know I said i prob have some, but it's probably in 'the' cupboard and well, would you fancy searching in 'that' cupboard??
I finally bought some face paint.
I proudly showed it to ds when he came home from school, but as he'd had a bad day he just grunted at me...
I muttered a lot to myself as I prepared dinner...hobbling on my poor old worn out feet. Ds was playing with the boy next door.
When he came in he asked if the boy next door could come round tomorrow morning before school. Yes I said, but why? - Because he wants to spray my hair red with his red hair spray..
