Ive just bought a lurex 1920s style dress from miss selfridge online and its completely see through! Im planning to wear it to a wedding in august. Anyone have any idea what i can wear under it?

get a cream satin nightie/slip!

powder28 · 15/03/2007 08:35

Where can i get a nice one from? Also What sort of underwear should iwear under that? The dress is beautiful so i dont want to send it back. I just dont want to turn up at my friends wedding displaying my bits.

microfibre slip from M&S - may need taking up but they do work.

and under that wear fleshcoloured seamless undies - boy shorts are good for avoiding VPL. A padded bra (even if you don't need the enhancement) prevents pokey nipples.

If you go to the site and look at the dress its really misleading cos it looks like its lined and it doesnt say 'this dress is cokmpletely see through by the way'
I do love their clothes although sometimes buying then online is a gamble. I bought a mini skirt once that was more like a belt. I WILL wear it though, with leggings of course!

I definitely need enhancement Mrs Badger. Actually the nipple thing is an interesting one. I saw something called nippetts or nippets and they go over your nipples to prevent the smuggling look. You can wear them under wet costumes as well apparently.
I might get myself some chicken fillets too.

Nipettes sound... interesting (personally I wear a padded bikini )

Don't go mad with the fillets - 1920s-style dresses were designed for boyish 'gamine' figures and often look better on smaller chests or straight-up-and-down people than on voluptuous curves.

I will go into town and pop into m&s, I will have to take the dress with me to try things on under it, what a kerfuffle! I hope they dont think im shoplifting!

powder28 · 15/03/2007 12:26

Oooooh, just had a look at your dress - it's gorgeous!! Might have to treat myself...

powder28 · 15/03/2007 12:49

I know, its lovely isnt it, but nothing as yet to put under it. What would you wear under it? It needs to be something that isnt goingto broadcast your underwear when the sun shines thru it!

OP posts:
weepootleflump · 15/03/2007 13:24

Don't see what else you can do other than the slip...

powder28 · 15/03/2007 13:34

I have also seen lots of other dresses i would like, i wish i had lots and lots of money!
