Gift ideas for MIL 80th birthday.

My MIL will be 80 next month and dh and I are stumped for gift ideas. She is housebound and stuck in a chair all day and it is very hard to get her to go out with us now. She has a kindle fire, but only uses it to read books....

Any suggestions?

A cashmere blanket in her favorite colour?

Thanks for the suggestion Handcuffed, but she has a couple of blankets friends have made for her. Not sure she would have use for another.

What about a subscription to a magazine so the gift would last all year? Or membership of one of those clubs like chocolate or cake which would send her a box every month?

Has she got lots and lots of old photo albums in a cupboard somewhere she?
We borrowed all MIL and scanned them all in and got a massive photobook printed with them all in.

It has pride of place on her coffee table now, so I think it was a pretty good idea.

Does she have a garden, and able to look out onto it? Nice rose bush/ to look out at?

YOu can get bird feeders that attach on to your window. Might be something to look out on ?
