Advice for a *not so* blushing bride

Getting married very soon. Just wandered. What are the main lessons you have learned about how to make the marriage work/what not to put up with etc.

any advice gratefully recieved.

Funnily enough, ALL of us couples from my group at uni who didn't live together before marriage are all happily married nearly 20 years later.

I think the key is to be great friends and to take the time to get to know each other.

Without exception, every couple I know who have rushed into a major life decision (living together, getting married, getting pregnant etc) have either split up or are very unhappily still together.

Turn the TV off at night and TALK. Best advice I can give - married 8 months.
