Which reusable sanitary towel?

I feel a slight imposter here as I don't have kids but as it's a group mainly made up of women I knew I'd get the best advice here.

Recently when wearing sanitary towels (only at night time) I get very very irritated which last for about a week afterwards. It's very uncomfortable to the point where I can't even sit down. I've decided now that the best way forward is reusable sanitary towels but it's a bit of a mind field as it's all new to me. Which ones are the best? I have seen a few that are poly cotton but would rather use 100% cotton down there so as not to sweat so much.

I have thought about moon cups but honestly don't think they are right for me.

Any advice is greately appreciated

I like imse vimse night time pads. They are organic cotton, fairly cheap, not too bulky and really long so great for night use.

I don't get the idea of a cup either so I've been using reusable pads for 8 years now.

I have a few different ones, starting out with branded ones (fuzzibunz, Moon rabbits, imse-vimse) but my favourites are actually from Facebook sellers. I have quite a few from "Pretty Period" on there and they've been great, the shape is better for me and i get to choose funky designs which i like. My favourites are my Nightmare before Christmas pads!

They're also very reasonably priced. I have no affiliation with the maker or brand but i could earn commission on my constant recommendation :o

Are they disposable? I'm slowly turning into a bit of an eco warrior! I will try them out though, anything for a bit of relief!!!

I just give them a cold rinse in the machine/shower to stop staining then chuck them in with the dark load.

I started using them for the same reason. My eczema does not like plastic fibres!

It used to use Always when I was younger and started getting irritation so changed brand which had been fine for a few years but it's started up again. It's made me a bit concerned as to what chemicals are even on there as I've heard from a few people they get the same irritation! I've since stopped using hair dye, deodorant (I buy a natural balm now, I don't smell honest) and only use lush shampoo and conditioner because there's no nasties in them.

I love the imse vimse ones for nights. My faves in the day are Eco rainbow minki ones.

I've tried a few makes. I'd suggest getting a few different ones and different sizes to work out what is best for you. Eg I tend to use the heavy flow or night time Eco rainbows rather than the normal flow even when I'm on a light day because the normal ones are shorter and where the edge of the pad sits is uncomfortable for me but the heavy ones are longer and encompass my undercarriage nicely so are more comfy.

My favourites are from Moo's on Facebook. The lady makes them at home on an old Singer sewing machine. They're the comfiest I've tried and she has some lovely patterns.

Btw many people on here don't have kids - some are even men!

I'm tempted to try reusables too. I hate sanitary towels, rustley and make me itchy and sore. Most of them are fragranced too which doesn't help matters

How many would people suggest would be needed for a period? I do at least a load of washing a day but obviously the towels would need time to dry too. Tia :)

I got mine from Cheeky Wipes,which have a pads section on their website. Had them ages & would only use a disposable in an emergency! So much better.
