I've got some question's about working in a care home. What are the hours like if you want to work part time? Can you work set hours or are you expected to work overtime?

When I worked in a nursing home I did a mixture of early and late shifts which were 7 hours each, I also did the occasional long day which was 14 hours and nights were 10 hours long. Didn't really get much flexibility with this, I have worked as bank staff where I could pick and choose my shifts.

I know this was posted a while ago but I hope this helped regardless.

By the way the hours were full time.

Part time would usually be one or two long days including your share of weekends. You'll be told hours are set but constantly pressured to work more as they're all incredibly under staffed.
