not always, just recently. Latest saga is job trouble. Dh id being made redundant end of july as company is closing. We moved here only 2 months ago for his job on relocation money, I may add because he was on a very good 5 year contract. It was rumoured some people may be facing redundancy but he was assured before the move it wasnt him. You can imagine evryones shock, not just dh's that the whole company was closing. He was offered transfer to 2 other branches (wont say where in case some of your husbands work at this particular site !) but dh is just not happy with the company and wouldnt feel safe there anyway. He has had 10 interviews in the past 2-3 weeks, and second interviews on alot of jobs. He is waiting answers for a few that would involve a commute but we wouldnt have to move again.

Trouble is he has been offered a very good position but it would mean relocating AGAIN and we have only just moved. Part of me says to him wait for something closer to here and another says well we havent settled yet and at least the mortgage will get paid. Also its a bit of a case of 'once bitten twice shy' iykwim. He is the main breadwinner so everything depends on his wage.

What to do? and dont laugh we feel crap about our situation, we must be the unluckiest people just lately!!

Hey fio, just noticed this - move to Tewkesbury!!! Only about 40 mins from here and yes, dd does get good support, if you lived in Gloucestershire I think you would probably fall under Cheltenham for care, prob same consultant as us!

Job market is good - Cheltenham, Gloucester or Worcester all nearby, don't know about house prices. E-mail me for more info if you like - I could try to find out more if poss re special schools in the area -I know there is one called Milestones in Cheltenham, but don't know much about it, will ask next time I'm at dd's school.

Oh, have just read rest of thread about Wimborne!! Oh well, that area is really nice too - have friends v nearby, also in Dorchester, sure you would like it there, although not as accessible as Tewkesbury! The new job's boss sounds great.

What a load of hassle for you

well he has had a contract and offer in writing off the one in Wimbourne, Dorset.

He has met the MD and HR person yesterday to discuss relocation and wages at Tewksbury.

He has sort of been offered a job at a big american corporation in North london and is going on wednesday to discuss wages etc.

And.......another aerospace company in Bucks have also shortlisted him for the job.

All jobs seem really good so we are just biding time a bit so he can pick which one seems best. At least he isnt going to be unemployed...phew!

caroline5 - thanks for all your advice btw. if we do decide on tewksbury I will be emailing you for advice
