We are interested in hiring a cottage for xmas this year, does anyone know of any lovely ones that will sleep 5, and one dog? Ideally in the Cornwall or Dorset area?

hi miaow - have you looked in the Haven brochure? Think there are some nice ones in there. I know there's a site with log cabins, static caravans etc with a club house in east dorset and I think there's even a dry ski slope too but I cant think of the name of it, sorry. (i've never been but have a vague recollection of being told about it) sorry, not much help but you should find something in the brochure. hth

Have you looked at Welcome Cottages? Over the past few years we have used them 4 or 5 times and the cottages have always been lovely. Their website is www.cottages2004.co.uk

Beetroot, how much is it for your cottage? I love Somerset. We just want to get away from DHs mother this year (my parents don't celebrate Xmas) and I would love to hire a cottage and have a lazy week.

Try this one too.

This company is based very near me and they have an excellent reputation. Before we lived down here we used them several times for holidays and the service and quality of the cottages was brilliant.

Would definitely second the helpful holiday link, the cottage we had was absolutely gorgeous.
