Puff the Magic Dragon!!!!

Don't think she understood it properly.

I did try and explain that mummy cries when she hears this song.

A more accurate description would be that mummy sobs uncontrollably and has to be helped to bed.

WHOEVER THOUGHT THIS WAS A SUITABLE SONG FOR CHILDREN???? (or anyone?)

Danced to Will.

He used to sing Elton to me

Spidermama · 09/03/2007 21:02

Aw Welshy.

I have a sad memory attached to Al Green's song, 'I'm so tired of being alone', but I can't quite pull it back into my mind. When I listen though ... >

God - I love 'He ain't heavy'.

I actually rather like 'You got a friend' too, despite the AA ad.

The song that is guaranteed to get me weeping though is 'Stay with me', Lorraine Ellison is it? Some woman with a belter of a voice anyway. Blimey. Can't play it tonight. Dh away

Eric Clapton's - if I saw you in heaven (title?) gets me every time

WelshBoris · 09/03/2007 21:06

It's Ok now though because my lovely new DP sings Paul Weller to me "You're the best thing thats ever happened to me"

And that "if I knew you were coming I'd have baked a cake" song from the advert, because he heard me sing it in the shower.

Flamesparrow · 09/03/2007 21:06

Oh Welshy

My big one is Kelly Clarkson - Because of you I know that one gets MumOfMonsters too, so I am not a freak

moondog · 09/03/2007 21:07

psml at BBS border experience.
Reminds me of a trip I took around the States
after a gruelling summer in a children's camp.
Everyone else pissed off to the beach to shag, dance and drink themselves senseless.
Not Mr and Mrs Moondog. Oh no!!!!

Started with American Indian's Trail of Tears (murdering thousands by impregnating blankets with TB)

Moved on to Mississippi and the misery that is slavery, cotton picking and the Blues.

Next up was the whole civil rights thing..Selma bridge,MLK's tomb, sit ins, police brutality.

Finished off with coalmining in Kentucky.More misery, incest, abuse, industrial accidents.

That was a riot I tell ya.

WelshBoris · 09/03/2007 21:08

You'll know as soon I am pregnant, wont be long either

I cant go anywhere near my ex, it brings me out in a rash.

moondog · 09/03/2007 21:08

Wot about Robert Plant's wife??

foxinsocks · 09/03/2007 21:08

that Watership Down one (Bright Eyes) always sets me off too

(and raindrops keep falling on my head because it makes me think of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid film that it's in)

beckybrastraps · 09/03/2007 21:09

Very worthy moondog.

Was it a package?

moondog · 09/03/2007 21:09

Oh,great choices FIS!
Real misery inducers.
'Bright Eyes' reminds me of when the immersion heater in our house blew up nearly killing my sister.
She spent weeks in Intensive Care and my father read 'Watership Down' to her.

She's alright now though.

Greensleeves · 09/03/2007 21:10

Oh God, I want a spliff

moondog · 09/03/2007 21:10

BBS.
Was tailor designed by me.
Noone else wanted to come.

Funny that...

kimi · 09/03/2007 21:10

Me and little Andy always make me cry, as does ticket to heaven, and DH1 can't listenn to dance with my father

bumperlicious · 09/03/2007 21:11

Bit esoteric but 'Don't Speak' by no doubt was out when I split up with my first love. I used to listen to it a wail 'You and me, we used to be together, everyday together, always. I reeeeeelly feeeeel like I'm losing my best friend, I can't believe this could be the eeeeeeennndd' , still makes me cry now, 10 years later!
