to share a room or not?

What are your views on two under three's sharing a room together? One will be 3 the other 8 months.

Is it a silly idea? Will they disturb each other if they get sick? Does it work for anyone else?

My two shared a room from age 1 and 3 until they were 3 and 6, they even ened up sharing a bed for a while while we we selling the house as it is a single room. They didn't seem to disturb each other and still wanted to share when we moved house.

My 2 started sharing at 7 months & 28 months.It has worked brilliantly as dd1 sleeps through anything but dd2 was more easily disturbed.Sharing a room seems to have improved dd2's sleep no end.Plus they entertain each other when they wake up & I don't have to rush in & get them up.

I think they have only woken each other up 3 or 4 times in 16 months.

My two have been sharing starting when they were 6mths and 2yrs (now 4.25 and 6yrs). I think it works out well - they really like it. It is a pain that the older sometimes wakes up the younger 1/2 hr earlier than she would otherwise, but basically it works. (Actually the older is pretty good now about getting up without waking up her sis and just toddling off to go on the computer downstairs). They don't really disturb each other if one is sick or has bad dreams. I would say that only happens 1 or 2x a year. It is lovely to hear them chatting away in there, and having their own private play time while we are in bed!

Worked well for my dses - they shared for 3 years, until ds2 was 3, and they loved it.

They'll be sharing again soon, when dc3 arrives in a couple of months and demands his/her own space, and they're looking forward to it. Partly to do with new bunk beds I suspect, but on the whole they're happy about it all.

My 2 DDs will be sharing just as soon as I can get DD2 to sleep through[shes 2mths at the min and DD1 is 14mths]. Think they will be sharing forever or at least until we are rch

My two shared when they were younger 21months between them and d2 was about 9 months when she went in there, but dd2 is a terrible sleeper and dd1 loves sleep and hates sharing(we extended in the end)

2 of mine share, they started at 10 months and 4 years. It's worked quite well for us. They still share now at 2 and 5.6....but younger is in bed now so a few sleep issues from her
