I've just tried to book our tickets online to London for our paris weekend .
all seemed well. Entered the dates etc. Selected the train, all well, confirmed and paid - aghhhhh - suddenly realised the date had changed from 27th April to the 28th!!!!
Thinking this was my error I clicked back to check - no I had entered 27.
Phoned to complain. He insisted it was my error and I would have to pay a fee to change them. I insisted this was wrong. He gave me another number to try.
This lady far more friendly and said it was probably because there were no tickets available on my chosen day. She said there was not a lot she could do other than send me a form with the tickets which would waive the fees. she transferred me to someone to rebook the tickets and lo and behold the cheapest tickets were £100 instead of £20!.
I've since gone back to their site to try again and the same thing happens every time. I can set the date to be the 26th and it will still switch to 28 at confirmation. I think this is awful. There is no warning it will do this so you'd have to be sharp eyed to spot it. Had I known it would cost this much to travel I'd have gone another route. I only went this way because it was so much cheaper. Looks like we will now have to go down the night before and pay for a hotel or else cough up an extra £100. Nightmare. Virgin sucks - value fares my
