Here in Brisbane Australia tonight..... intereting being on this side of the world this time rather than back in England... funny TV ads alluding to Johnny not playing ( sorry England fans....)

However - dismayed to see dh had dressed dd in her England rugby shirt to go out yesterday.... that is what happens when one lets them dress the kids

Would have loved to get English Dh tickets but sold out before we arrived....

rugby thugby

Parents told me NZ playing Argentina today... did not even know it was happing, the world cup.. it all football fever here eidsvold!

Ghosty · 26/06/2004 09:18

DH is in Brissy tonight Eidsvold (didn't know you had moved back already, is that why you haven't been around much?) ...
Of course, the rugby on NZ telly tonight is the All Blacks vs Argentina. We have got Sky but that is on the telly in the living room (or 'Lounge Room' as the kiwi's call it!) so I will have to keep running out in between posting ('puter is in Dining Room - or 'Dining Room' as the kiwi's call it )
Not holding out much hope for England today though ... their performance last week agains the All Blacks was just pathetic ... and Sir Clive took it all in very bad grace ... he is seen as a sore loser now ...

Ghosty · 26/06/2004 09:19

Poo ... hate rogue apostrophes ... 'kiwis' NOT 'kiwi's' ...

papillon · 26/06/2004 09:22

Dining Room
Living Room
Lounge (no room) just lounge - the one used when nice guests come around

Ghosty · 26/06/2004 09:31

Papillon ... I know you are a kiwi ...
BUT, the kiwis I know say Lounge Room ...
Just having a gentle tease ...

papillon · 26/06/2004 09:35

Oh yes, we have a Lounge... room... are you sure you have not missed the slight pause in speech, an intact of breath and then lounge uttered...

Lounge Room... Are they from the North Shore

Ghosty · 26/06/2004 09:39

Ha ha ... isn't the North Shore inhabited by South Africans?
No ... I live in dodgy South Auckland ...

papillon · 26/06/2004 09:42

South African North Shore - I have been away too long...! do they all have mullets, drive holdens or ride motorbikes and drink JD too?

my dad is off to Auckland next week, playing in the NZ billiards champs - my sporting hero!!

Ghosty · 26/06/2004 09:54

Papillon, you have been away too long ...
South African North Shore ...
All the Mullets are in West Auckland ... 'Westies' with their motorbikes ...
And in South Auckland everyone is called Bro ...

Ghosty · 26/06/2004 09:56

Then of course you have your Central and Eastern Suburbs ... the Grammar School Zone where everyone drives a 'Remuera Tractor' (4WD!!) and pronounces Maori names wrong ... on purpose.

papillon · 26/06/2004 09:59

True bro

Never lived in Auckland I admit... doh.. yeh bro Westies of course!! loved that movie... Savage Honeymoon.. you ever seen it?

Remuera buses I used to know them by!

Ghosty · 26/06/2004 10:21

No, never have seen that film! Saw Once Were Warriors last weekend though ...
One of the most draining films ever ...

papillon · 26/06/2004 10:26

upset me heaps too that film.. was supposed to have tea afterwards and was too sick to my stomach to eat it

off now... have a good evening!

Ghosty · 26/06/2004 10:28
