wondering about doing some voluntary work and have always toyed with the idea of something like this.
Anyone done it? Cod,I believe,is our resident JP or anyone else? What hoops are there tojump thro', what'sthe time commitment, what's basically it like?
Oh, and childcare too =-just a rumour that this is covered or is it a legitimate (!) expense? TIA

thanks! Btw, I'vejust spoken to the local clerk and he said they have 4applications for every one place! Was amazed, thought there was a shortage! I'm hoping that as a 30-something mum I mayhave more chance as will help to make the bench more representative.

Dunno where cod is today, but she did some voluntary work before applying to be a JPmthat stood her in good stead - used to hang around with a teenage crim and try to stop her being more of a crim. Have you done something similar that could support your application and make you more desirable than the other 3 in 4?
