Leaving ds for 3 whole days. Feeling anxious............

I'm off to London v early on Sunday morning, and won't be back untill v late Tuesday evening. I've only ever spent 1 night away from my ds so I'm starting to feel anxious. More so as ds has just developed a stinking cold and is very clingy and whingy.

To make things worse I work Wed - Fri so I'll see him for about an hour on Weds morning then I'll have to dump him at nursery.

He's being looked after by dh and MIL so no worries there, but I'll miss him like crazy.

Worse things happen at sea I know, I need a good MN slap I think!

Hey Northerner, I know how you feel, am away on my first work trip out of the country since before ds (aged 1) came along on Monday. Is only overnight but I'll be back so late Tuesday I won't see him and then will have to rush off to work early Wednesday (train strike and course that starts earlier than I usually do. Am feeling blue. Sure ds will be OK (he's with dh) but he was miserable last week when I went to stay with my sister who has just had a baby for two nights . Guess we just have to get on with it... are you going to be busy? Probably helps. Is ds old enough for you to talk to him on the phone?

Thanks guys.

Eddm - yes my ds is 2yrs and 3 months so I can chat to him on the phone. And I will be extremely busy whilst I'm there - we're running a conference for 140 doctors. It'll be manic.

But I get this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach. Motherhood and feeling guilty just go hand in hand I guess!
