Well, will try to keep it short, but am making no promises.
I posted on another forum a link for a mile for maude...anyway, it was removed and I was told it was removed, because it was in breech with their guidelines, as it was a mumsnet thing.
I pointed out, that you don't have to be a member of mn to take part and that I thyought as parenting forum some members probably would be interested in getting involved.
Well, today I was told that they can't let me post it, becuase it is in breech of somehting in their updated guildeines. Now, call me a cynic, but I am pretty sure sure they actually changed the guidelines just now, as the "sticky" post had disappeared earlier and is back now....
now, I know a fair few membersin person and I really like those people, but am soooooooo pissed off with that forum, but think I might be overreacting to remove myself from the member list...and it would feel a bit like " I cut off my nose to spite my face"...on the other hand I feel pathetic for not just deleting my mebership, as I fnd this really pissy and am seriously annoyed about it...
probably would have been better in the "am I being unreasoble bit" lol...anyway...what would you do?

Seems everyone is a bit skittish at the mo about forums and who posts what - personally I agree that they sound pissy, but whether you stay on their members list or not is your call. You can still stay in touch with the other RL friends and just not post for a while.

thanks coolmama....glad someone replied and didn't leave my message stand all alone
I shall stop posting there for a while and see how I feel once I have cooled down about it...I am just sooo annoyed with it all!

I suppose the question to ask is "do I want to stay posting on a forum with these pissy people?" - short answer I'm guessing would be a big fat no, so come and hang out here with all the cool mums! ( haha - no pun intended, seriously)

I had this on another forum. They were slating mumsnet and I stuck up for us! They said all we did was bitch and snipe at each other so I linked to one of those threads where everyone talks about the lovely things other mumsnetters have done for them and how mumsnet has helped them.

I was to be moderated and have my post amended. It ended up not saying what I had wanted to at all, so I posted again saying much the same but without the link. I was moderated again!!

I was as it was OK for mumsnet to get slagged off but not for me to stick up for us. I didn't flounce or anything, but I've never been back.

simple - vote with your feet, people!

I suppose it is, eh...it really annoys me...I eman, we all are aware of otehr forums, and surely a simple link isn't all it takes at the end ofd the day...what annoyed me, was , that at the end of the day, a mileformaude is a fundraising event, marely organised by mumsnetters, rather then mnhq...surely as parents we should all want to support such an event, as surely cotdeath is one of those things, most have in commojn....as in frightened off....
