Changing first name?

Has anybody changed their first name? Or know anyone that has?

Has it caused you any problems, like when travelling/ applying for things/anything else?

I haven't, but I know someone who has. No more difficult than having a difficult to spell name which means you are often Paxillin on your passport, but Poxillin on your credit card and Paxilox on your work ID. In other words, a right PITA.

Hello, I changed my first name at 18, if actually wasn't a big deal.
I had a very abusive father who went to prison, police advised to consider changing first and second name as first was distinctive (easy to find)
Did it by deed poll, told my family and friends and applied for new driving license an passeport. Many years down the line I almost never need to show any additional paperwork.
It's a faff if you just fancy a new name but worth it if you have a reason to need a Change :)
