Hi,
We are possibly moving for the first time, been in this house for 29 years! So have no idea of how it goes, agent coming today to value ours and already seen the house we want. Is it difficult to buy without using an agent, fees seem extortionate!

i sold mine with a private ad in a shop window - twice.
You can sort out your new mortgage yourself, contact your existing lender, and they will explain how to sort it. Your old mortgage will be redemmend and a new one started. Your solicitor will negotiate with your new and old buyers solicitors.

We bought ours from the local estate without their using an agent. Saved everyone fees, but we are in Scotland so it may be different where you are.

Oh yes, estate in this context means the laird!
