what do BT charge for basic line rental?

This may be a daft question but I've been looking at their website for ages and I can't find any info.

I'm thinking of changing to another company for the cost of my phonecalls (the phone co-op actually in my efforts to be greener!). I've thought of changing several times but have never got around to checking out all the info. I mean they say calls are cheaper but then you still have to pay BT for the line rental. We have BT together so its hard to know how much we would axtually save. Anyway I'm doing this for ethical reasons so its not just about money but I do want to make sure we are not going to be hugely out of pocket....

So how much do you still have to pay BT if you use another provider to pay for the cost of the calls?

Thanks

I think its 31.91 looking at my mums phone bill. Thats with bt together option one, the 6p and hour plan, which i think is the most basic package.

Thats a quarter! Not a month or a week!

Hmmm I thought it might be something like that. Seems a lot though when you add the cost of calls on top.

I've got two lines so it would cost me £60 just for line rental. The 2nd line is just for internet.

How do people save money switching then?
