Has there been an update? How is she?

OboePlayingImmortalRabbit · 25/01/2017 21:15

AM That's lovely! Flowers

I went to Gloucester Cathedral today and lit a candle for Zombie. I've also got the virtual candle on my phone burning brightly.

In the cathedral shop they sell mead, so I bought a bottle, and I raise my glass of mead to the wonderful Zombie and the amazing Phalanx Wine

Gloucester cathedral is lovely oboe. Did you enjoy it there?

I've made beer bread this evening so I'm finishing off the excess. It's rather nice.

atheistmantis · 25/01/2017 21:18

Purple Yes, it is lovely, isn't it? Really enjoyed my visit. I must go there more often, as I'm so close (Cinderford).

OboePlayingImmortalRabbit · 25/01/2017 21:27

Beer bread sounds rather lovely too Grin

AdoraBell · 25/01/2017 21:27

Happy burns night everyone 🥃

I'll be ordering some of that chocolate gin. Must say I'm not much of a gin gal, apologies, much more 🍷 or pisco, but I had a South African gin, with a slice of orange zest once at a friend's. That was lush. Can't remember what it's called though. Again, apologies.

One of those lush gins with orange for you darling Zombie hope you have another comfortable night.

PurpleDaisies · 25/01/2017 21:33

oboe the beer bread was a kit we got for Christmas-empty the dry ingredients into a bowl and add a 330ml beer, stir then put in the oven. The one we had was chocolate which I hadn't noticed and we were supposed to be having it with stew for dinner! You could really taste the beer but it was lovely. It looks quite easy to make from scratch. I haven't tried it yet-I think that's s project for next week.

I'm in North Somerset but have family in Malvern so we're often passing through Gloucester. It's always a treat to see the cathedral.

OboePlayingImmortalRabbit · 25/01/2017 21:44

Purple It sounds delicious. I'm not much of a baker but I wouldn't mind having a go at that.

Gloucester Cathedral really is so beautiful, isn't it? There was hardly anyone there, and it felt so serene. It was such a lovely place to light a candle for Zombie.

PurpleDaisies · 25/01/2017 21:48

Yes-it's really peaceful and I've always felt relaxed there. I've got a free day tomorrow so might pop to Wells, there's another stunning cathedral there that's really worth a visit.

This beer bread stuff could hardly be called baking. It seems to be weighing out dry ingredients, adding beer, stirring and putting in the oven. If I find a good recipe I'll post a link.

MrsMozart · 25/01/2017 22:04

Is Bathtub Gin any good? I'm not a drinker of the gin, but liked the name and bottle Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 25/01/2017 22:07

You can't donate if you're on regular medication either Blush

I should have known that.

SeamstressfromTreacleMineRoad · 25/01/2017 22:42

Luis and Atheist I decided that, once I knew Zombie's name from these threads, I would find her on FB. Then I (rashly) sent her a friend request - which she's accepted . I feel strangely honoured...! Smile
I'm sure that she'll respond if you do the same - Zombie can never have too many friends Star

acatcalledjohn · 25/01/2017 22:44

No idea about bathtub, but if you like gin try Caorunn. It's a naice 'enjoy a glass' gin, rather than a smooth 'keep drinking' sort of gin, like my Bols. I don't touch Gordon's, it's foul IMHO.

OhTheRoses · 25/01/2017 23:17

Have we heard from Zombie today? The thread is almost full. Zombie's threads, are faster paced than the Archers ones last spring!

I'm going to our village church service on Sunday.

There's a part of the service where the congression can call out names of loved ones/friends they want to be thought of especially at the moment.

I wonder if there'll be a few raised eyebrows if I call out "Zombie" Grin
