I have been looking at getting dd Brownie Uniform - she should start in the summer. This shows all the current Brownie uniform (I hope!) So how much of that does your child have? eg t-shirt or long sleeved shirt? trousers, leggings or skort?

Could you just click on my link KBear and tell me if that is old or new uniform as that is going to be my guide. Thanks.

(sorry quick hijack) kbear, where does your dd go?

blondehelen · 24/02/2007 21:53

dg - that is the current uniform dd has. She has leggings, long sleeved top, t shirt and hooded jacket. BTW - Legging come up small

Kbear · 24/02/2007 21:57

DG - yep that's the current stuff.

Pantiles on Tuesday blondehelen. Does your DD go there?

blondehelen · 24/02/2007 21:59

no, in the village on a monday. Just monday isn't a good day for me, but Tuesday is dance day. Did she have Dabbles day today?

Kbear · 24/02/2007 22:01

Dabbles Day? Never heard of it, so no! Does she dance at Belmont on Tuesday? I thinking of swapping DD to there instead of Sat.

Kbear · 24/02/2007 22:01

There is also Friday brownies at the Pantiles

blondehelen · 24/02/2007 22:04

Friday is piano! think I will have to leave her where she is. dabbles is like a craft morning for Thinking day. She does ballet tap and jazz in the church hall behind asda (footloose)

Brownies don't really need a uniform until they are enrolled.

Wait till she joins - here the first week most girls just wear their Rainbow tabards - and see what the others wear.

E.g. Our brownie pack sew badges onto their gilets or hoodies so anyone buying a sash would've wasted their money.

Kbear · 24/02/2007 22:07

yes, check with the pack whether they sew their badges on the sash or not. Some obviously don't. DD's does and they get extra Brownie points (towards Brownie of the month) if they remember to wear it!

nikkie · 24/02/2007 22:30

Dd1 has a sash too. Here the rainbow tabards belong to the pack and just get handed along so noone needs to buy one.

princesscc · 25/02/2007 11:01

DG - make sure you get the wide sash and not the skinny one, the badges are so big you won't get many on the thin one.

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/02/2007 12:53

I got DD1 the narrow sash, on the grounds that I only managed to get one brownie badge (swimmer - required no effort on my part). DD1 is much more enthusiastic than I was and we have already filled the sash.

We have long sleeved T shirt, short sleeved T shirt, culottes (horrible) and trousers. Trousers are age 11, I think, the longest they do (according to Lady in John Lewis) and are already too short. DD1 is giant 8 year old.
