That's a great idea exit

Maybe HQ can create a special Zombie-Corner "classics" so her memory will float around forever throughout the MN universe.

justforthisthread1 · 23/01/2017 11:38

Peace be with you Zombie Be free from the pain. Flowers

BiddyPop · 23/01/2017 11:43

Another delurker here Flowers wishing you well after seeing lots of great advice (and bearing the benefit of lots of it last year when supporting DH through DFIL's illness).

I am lending you a spare limb to help support you today, this week, this month, this year, as you have supported so many in previous days, weeks, months and years on MN and more. Hopefully you are comfy in your hospice bed, with ZombieLad, ZombieLass, ZombieNiece and the virtual Phalanx surrounding you with love and floating in a nice fluffy morphine cloud but still retaining all your senses to enjoy their company and support.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 23/01/2017 11:45

Exit, I think all Zombie's threads are here in Other Subjects which is not time limited.

Certainly the last 4 years or so.

pinkunicornsarefluffy · 23/01/2017 11:46

Another long term lurker, under a different name. Your strength and spirit have been amazing Zombie and truly inspirational.

Hoping you find pain free peace

HerRoyalFattyness · 23/01/2017 11:54

I'm on a break from work. (Volunteer in a nursery)
I got distracted wondering how zombie was and hoping she was pain free when I had a load of paint chucked over me! In my hair, all over my face, all down my work top!
(That's only a bit of it, I had to crop out the rest to hide my badge)
I've cleaned up as best as I can.
I'm sure zombie would find it funny.
So phalanx, lesson for the day. Don't trust 2 year olds woth paint, even if it's only for a second!

Zombie - the old lush needs us, so rally around you Phalanxers
duskonthelawn · 23/01/2017 11:56

I am also unlurking to wish you a peaceful and pain-free journey, zombie. FlowersStar
Also sending Flowers and Cake to the phalanx, what an amazing, supportive group you have been.
Having a boogie with DD to Thomas the Tank Engine in honour of all of you, hope this is an ok substitute to disco music Smile

BertPuttocks · 23/01/2017 11:58

Wine and Flowers for Zombie.

Wishing you a peaceful journey to whatever may be next.

And another snurk at "genital hugs".

Toooldtobearsed · 23/01/2017 12:10

Sleep well Zombie, you will be remembered with love by a lot of people.

seagreengirl · 23/01/2017 12:13

Dear Zombie, I've followed you for a long time and always admired your take on things and been amused by your writing.

Sending you much love and peace. I do hope that somehow you are feeling wrapped in love. xx

Sprink · 23/01/2017 12:13

Zombie, you've made me laugh many times. Thank you. Flowers

GerundTheBehemoth · 23/01/2017 12:24

My thoughts are with you, lovely Zombie, and all your family and friends Flowers

CocoaX · 23/01/2017 12:24

Just adding my thoughts and prayers. I have not been following these threads, so it feels a bit intrusive- but I have been a long time member of MN and have of course heard of Zombie and so I want to add my prayers for her and her support network.

MomentOfWonder · 23/01/2017 12:25

Another lurker, keen to say thank you to Zombie for the reminder that kindness and humour continue to shine bright even when things seem their darkest. Thinking of you and all those who love you Flowers

ExitPursuedBySpartacus · 23/01/2017 12:25

Great if her threads are all still around. When I first met her on here she was with her DH, and I was quite shocked when I caught up with her a few months later to discover what had happened.

OboePlayingImmortalRabbit · 23/01/2017 12:25

Thanks so much for posting that link, Malcolm

I lurk more than I post, but once (under a different name) I dared to venture on to a thread in Chat wailing that I really needed a drink, and Zombie kindly posted for me a picture of a fully-stocked bar, which cheered me up no end. Tonight I shall rummage through the Christmas drinks leftovers and raise a glass to Zombie - and to all of you wonderful people who have done so much to support her Wine Flowers

HeyRoly · 23/01/2017 12:31

Zombie once posted (a year ago? Maybe more!?) a potted history of her life over the last few years and it was such an amazing story told with such humour and grace. I'm so sorry this moment has come, but hope Zombie is free from pain and surrounded by the people who love her most.

ExplodedCloud · 23/01/2017 12:35

I was wondering whether, when the time is right, if one of you who knows Zombie in RL (with Zlad's agreement) would be able to share a picture of her in her prime?

NC1nightstand · 23/01/2017 12:37

Much love to you and yours. X long time lurker and admirer of your grace and humour Zombie. WineFlowersWine

TheCrowFromBelow · 23/01/2017 12:39

Delurking to wish you peace and love, Zombie, both to you and to your lovely family. you are one of MNs shining stars Star ✨

poisonedbypen · 23/01/2017 12:41

Here is the potted history thread:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/other_subjects/1952054-Why-Zombie-is-Zombie-the-backstory

Abraiid2 · 23/01/2017 12:43

Sadly the link about her son no longer works. It sounds like an inspiring story all the same! What a woman.

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 23/01/2017 12:46

Hey Zomb,
Don't tell anyone (like, serious) but me and Katherine have sneaked away from the office for a visit with you. We are sitting on your bed (plenty of room what with you just having the one zombie leg) eating your grapes right this minute and chatting about what a thoroughly good and funny egg you have always been and such an EXEMPLARY reporter. What will we do without you? May your dreams be always groovy, Zomb, and your eternal posts be always in the third person. Much love.

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 23/01/2017 12:52

Dusk, Thomas the Tank Engine is fine! DD and I busted some moves to Justin's House earlier. Whatever brings a smile to your face!

Oboe, you're welcome.

Fatty, my nearly 2-year old has just thrown her lunch all over herself, the table and the floor. So I'm with you on not trusting the little blighters darlings.

To all Phlanaxers on a slightly more serious note, please do say if the dancing stuff is unwelcome. I'm very new here and don't want to either appear like I'm butting in or being hideously inappropriate.

Lots of love to Zombie and her family Flowers

KatherineMumsnet · 23/01/2017 12:53

Tis true, dearest Zombie - the boards are running 'emselves. Pass the "grapes", Helen. Wine Wine Wine
No tears here, no sirree.
