There's also something about Santiago being hot Though I'm not paying much attention and I may have the wrong end of the stick...

Well....in that Chilean interview, Santi talked about role choices too. I know we'd all decided he's trying to cash in for the high life, but there may be more to it...

He did come across like an actor who ultimately wants decent roles. He talked about racism in tv / movies, said he would no longer take roles where he's cast as a stereotypical latino (drug baron etc). Said he likes it when he is just considered for a lead, not a random hispanic bloke to fill up ethnic quotas. He also said a lead role in a big franchise gets your face known and opens doors to better stuff. So that's why he accepted Transformers. (Though he did have reservations initially.) And his first reaction was "Transformers 5? I didnt even know there was a 1, 2, 3 or 4!" Grin

MadamedeChevreuse · 23/01/2017 12:55

Ah - helen's link is basically a translation of the bit I was talking about. Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/01/2017 13:08

Snort - yes, I've just read more of it - there seems to be a 'translation' of the whole article at the end of the comments to that piece, including the highly bizarre/entertaining comment that:
A semi-professional level was a scorer, but when I played more professional football, I realized that there were always about 10 cocks higher than mine and that frustrated me.
TeamA - Discuss and speculate Grin Grin Grin

SNORT!

The perils of google translate.

The word he used was "gallos" which apparently is colloquial for "lads / tough guys" in latin america. He was saying "there were always about 10 guys ahead of me", in terms of getting a place on the squad.

Unfortunately "gallo" literally means "male chicken", so...er...

MadamedeChevreuse · 23/01/2017 14:24

Very frustrating it must be, to have 10 cocks higher than yours.

Arf! Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/01/2017 20:07

Tired and grumpy this evening but then I found some chocolate cake in the freezer Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/01/2017 21:11

Excellent - the Freezer of Requirement Grin

We are watching University Challenge, except we aren't because DS seems to have taken DH hostage... Hmm

LetUsPrey · 23/01/2017 22:19

Evening wenches. Knackered after work and then been to exercise class.

Arf at 10 cocks Grin

Hurrah for hidden chocolate cake!

Watching NCIS. One of the episodes that I specifically said to DS1 "don't watch any NCIS without me". This translated in DS1's head as "feel free to watch several episodes of NICS so I then have to catch up".

MadamedeChevreuse · 23/01/2017 22:30

Freezer of requirement Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/01/2017 22:36

I want a Subconscious of Requirement to provide HBF dreams Grin

Have just reported a phishing email telling me that I'm owed a tax refund. I'm pretty sure that HMRC don't send emails from 'pro*@mimer*.net' Hmm FFS etc. Shame though, I was quite taken with the idea of a tax refund.
This is where you report such emails, in case anyone else gets one.

I'm off to the hayloft - will let you know if I stumble across Badders up there (you'll know because I'll probably swear a lot after face-planting).

Night all...

LetUsPrey · 24/01/2017 08:02

Morning wenches.

Grin at illicit NCISing

Those emails are a total PITA. Yes, honest, you have got a refund. Give us your bank details and we'll pop it straight in there. Promise.

Very very frosty and icy here which will mean trying to get DS2 out a bit earlier so I can clear the car and not be late. Fun times.

FancyFancy · 24/01/2017 08:35

Morning wenches. Soz, was a bit awol yesterday. Had a lengthy phonecall with an old friend in the morning who told me she was rather unexpectedly pregnant Grin so that was lovely news. Then went out for a cultural exursion, followed by dinner & got home disgracefully late for a schoolnight Blush

Off to catch up.....

FancyFancy · 24/01/2017 08:48

Gallo is cockerel in Italian btw too ]grin]

Badders123 · 24/01/2017 09:59

Alright?
Spent yesterday in hospital with mum as she had a "cardiac event" (?)
She basically had a heart attack at 2 am yesterday but didn't call anyone so by the time I got there at 9 she was quite ill
Anyway, she is ok.
I'm feeling a mix of tired and angry
I know she wants to die but ffs!
She will now not speak to me for days if past behaviour is anything to go by
So...I might not be around much this week
Love to all ❤️

MadamedeChevreuse · 24/01/2017 11:14

I love google translate. The Welsh on there is broadly correct for 'official' things but doesn't get any colloquial or idiomatic phrases at all. Hilare.

My sister's off to Germany on holiday and has very limited German. She's been very put off any translations from online tools but oddly found google welsh to German more accurate than the English. Oddso.

So, turns out I've been a bad mummy wenches. I know I always call Mr C an airhead because he's a big blond doofus. But to be entirely truthful he does have a degree from Oxford. So isn't totally dense. Ds4 knows this but obviously doesn't know anything about universities really. Bigger boys have started looking at different options and prospectuses etc. Ds4 says 'does it ever bother Dad that you went to a much better college than him' 😆😮😆. Oops. I must have somehow given him that impression. I will try henceforth to talk up Mr C's intellectual side. (Disclaimer: he got in for sports reasons in my opinion).

Badders I'm really sorry to hear about your mum. Never rains etc.

Comtess · 24/01/2017 12:38

Glad to hear you all had ace time Chez Fancy. Forgot to say *o didn't get a chance to watch homeland as neighbour has a cold and I'm training hard and don't want to get it!!! (Selfish). So zip lips til I tell you eh.

ApricotCrush · 24/01/2017 14:36

Afternoon wenches. Sunny day here, but very cold.

Hope your Mum's ok Badders. Flowers

Lovely house WW, but to be honest, I think I prefer the one you have now. Smile

FancyFancy · 24/01/2017 14:42

Afternoon wenches, have had a filling replaced so am killing time before I'm allowed to eat again. Please excuse the deafening roar of my rumbling tummy Blush

hope your mum is well again soon.

It was a very cultural excursion ww yes. Then there was some walking, dinner, being sociable in the bar & then erm.....yes, well I got home a bit late.

Moving swiftly on Haven't watched Homeland yet either comtess, but will keep schtum until you give me the nod. Reckon you're alright re : MrC's academic record - sporting admissions totally don't count Wink
