They did a very good job of tidying up after themselves. Who knows what they will get up to next though? Why not join us and find out?

bookbook · 12/01/2017 17:54

evening!
I am back home from babysitting, DH has made a curry ( which smells amazing) so life is sweet.
Unborn - congratulations on the job offer Star
Cats own you, not the other way round , don't they. I had the most enormous tom cat ( named Kizzy, as when I got it, I was told it was a she :) ) His favourite spot was wrapped around my neck like a fur collar. Didn't matter if I was sat , or stood at the sink, there he was . He was a big cat ..!
Can I be very cheeky Somer ? did we get a picture of your beautiful dress?

cozietoesie · 12/01/2017 18:05

Well done, Unborn. Smile

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 12/01/2017 18:23

Fab news Unborn well done Flowers

Thanks for clarifying married, I know you talk freely about your job but I didn't really feel comfortable announcing it in your absence Grin
Fascinating distraction at meet ups watching you in action!

Feline Falanx needs to shape up at night time! Maybe they'd like to spend the night in your upstairs bedroom Zombie?

iklboo · 12/01/2017 18:37

Well done Unborn on the new job.

Happy that the bed is shaping up Zombie. It must have been a Jellicle Moon last night with all the feline action. Small Cat Of The House decided to wake mummy up at 3:30am for a chat & a cuddle. This involves shaking my arm with his claws ever so slightly out, head butting me and padding on my (usually full) bladder. I was Not Amused. Then he did it again at 4:30am. Joy. He's been snoring in his cardboard box all day the bugger.

Second wool has arrived. I tried a practice square last night but the wool was rubbish & kept splitting. I'll try again at weekend with the good stuff.

We're snowing!

PotOfYoghurt · 12/01/2017 19:05

Somer if you're a fool then so am I- I remember thinking 'what a thoughtful, useful present!' How's wedded bliss?

Congratulations Unborn!

Mummylin · 12/01/2017 19:13

BBB can you send some down here ! Not a single flake. Been raining all afternoon now not even that ! I am waiting to wear my snow boots 😀

HerRoyalFattyness · 12/01/2017 19:14

Phalanx! Can you look after me please?
(Don't worry zombie, I only need them for a little bit, you can have them back soon!)
DD starts nursery tomorrow. I couldn't find jade green polo shirts in 2-3 years. So I've ordered some from tesco. They should arrive by Wednesday and I've bought white ones for her to wear until they turn up. But I feel like I've let her down and she will be the odd one out!

Mummylin · 12/01/2017 19:17

Fatty. I bet the other children won't even notice and it's only for a couple of days !! In fact maybe only for tomorrow as the others may come then. And it's only for a little while anyway. Your dd will be fine !!

UnbornMortificado · 12/01/2017 19:20

Fatty I can't see kids that age noticing honest. For the sake of a couple of days it's not worth worrying about.

Sorry you've still got the lurgy. How is your littlest one doing now?

HerRoyalFattyness · 12/01/2017 19:22

Baby is in bed cuddling a book Grin he seems to have perked up a bit now, but he did have a 3 hour nap this morning. Something he's not done for a long time.

UnbornMortificado · 12/01/2017 19:41

Pleased the little cutie is on the mend.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 12/01/2017 20:43

You'll probably find she's not the only one when you get there Fatty.

HerRoyalFattyness · 12/01/2017 20:44

I hope not! Either way she will look adorable. (I personally think white goes better with purple than green does!)

Fiderer · 12/01/2017 20:58

You never stop worrying about them, do you? I go past the kindergarten on my way home & sometimes think of all the things I fretted over.

See FidBoy1's KG teacher cycling by often, we smile and nod. Stopped her recently. Told her how he was off at a sailing camping thingy in the summer. He's 19. Last minute, nothing packed, 2 mins till pick up & I remembered they need a plate/cup/cutlery. So I chucked some in a bag. The cup was from the back of the cupboard, a mug from KG with his name and cats (he was in the Cat Group) - dated 2002. He laughed when he unpacked it & now it's his favourite coffee mug. She was v amused.

HerRoyalFattyness · 12/01/2017 21:01

Aw fid Grin
My nursery teacher was also my brothers, 14 years later at a different school. She remembered me. She has since retired but I saw her a few years ago, when DS1 had just started nursery and we stopped for a chat. She was lovely.

Allalonenow · 12/01/2017 21:23

Unborn Well done on the job front, I hope this is a turning point in your life for you. Thanks

Hope you are feeling better Fatty don't worry about the uniform, there will be quite a few there without the whole kit.

At school I was taught embroidery by a very well known embroiderer, we did counted thread work amongst other things. A very satisfying craft, I still do a little now and then.

I've often fancied a trip to Iceland, being keen on the sagas. Was the scenery as dramatic as you expected and what was the food like? What a shame the Northern Lights failed to put on a show for you.

Hope you get a better rest tonight Zombie and that those cats remember that you need your sleep.
How is your tummy doing, have you tried the drinks the nurse left you?

bookbook · 12/01/2017 22:30

Evening
Hope you are comfortable Z
and all the rest of you of course !
I have been fighting with a cable needle, as well as knitting needles. Finished now, with a cold flannel on forehead, and can now relax . :)
HRF - if she has a purple jumper, can you tuck the collar inside ? I doubt any will notice in truth though .

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 12/01/2017 23:18

I'll start -

BBB

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 12/01/2017 23:43

Some lovely places on airbnb Smile

And cheap.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 13/01/2017 00:22

Because geysers Grin

marriednotdead · 13/01/2017 00:39

Let me tell you there is nothing cheap about Reykjavik once you get there! Was a fab experience but I'm bloody glad I don't drink- average £8 for a small glass of wine or half a pint of lager Shock Food and trips out equally extortionate. Lots of dairy, fish and free range lamb, not much in the way of veg -or daylight- but very tasty.
Scenery was other worldy, Gullfoss Falls spectacular. There's an episode on BBC iplayer of Rick Steins Long Weekends there, well worth a watch- we went in the secret lagoon. Nobody tells you that your showers and the geysers stink of sulphur aka rotten eggs!
I need a lotto win so I can go back...

Hoping Zombie and her Zombiefootwarmers have a peaceful night Star

Allalonenow · 13/01/2017 00:50

After B3 posted, I had a quick look at Reykjavik hotels, and the reviews made me smile, almost all mentioned that the rooms were hot and the water smelt sulphurous, but they didn't seem to connect that to geothermal energy.
