They did a very good job of tidying up after themselves. Who knows what they will get up to next though? Why not join us and find out?

Ich bin ein Phalanxer! Grin

nemno · 19/01/2017 21:25

Delurking to express my admiration for you Zombie and hope that your own wishes are the ones that become reality. It is clear that you are wise and kind when considering everyone else, now I hope life is just and kind for you x

I really hope the steroids do for Zombie what they did for my Dad. They totally transformed his quality of life in his last 4 months with liver cancer. I was having to cook him proper meals and keep up with him again. Really, really want this for you too Zombie.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 19/01/2017 21:26

Has anyone heard that stereotypical "In Heaven / in Hell" joke about European nationalities? I'll see if I can remember it.

In Heaven...

The cooks are French
The engineers are German
The lovers are Italian
The police are British
And everything is run by the Swiss.

In Hell...

The cooks are British
The engineers are French
The lovers are Swiss
The police are German
And everything is run by the Italians

I know it's not very PC but I still find it very funny Grin

OhTheRoses · 19/01/2017 21:26

Vell I am half German (ish) my father was half German/half Spanish/Portugese. I am werry efficient and organised. Mensche comment about it Grin. It perfectly complements my husband's attention to detail.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 19/01/2017 21:26

Nice knitting Susie and great colours. Knit all rows is great as comes out flat. Alternate knit/purl rows is nice for texture but goes all curly.

Phalanx has had to get used to not hearing from Zombie for several days when she's not feeling up to posting.
She knows we're always here.
We mustn't panic and put her under pressure.
It doesn't help.

As far as Phalanx tours are concerned, I suggest we have passports, bank cards, knickers and hip flasks on call at a moments notice Grin

Await further instructions.

From anyone who's prepared to bite the bullet!

OhTheRoses · 19/01/2017 21:29

But Zombie darling who gives a flying fuck about me.

You snuggle up as best you can. Think nice thoughts and know so many love you because you are infinitely lovable.

This time last year I was with my friend in the hospice. It was a place of love, light and laughter. Her pain was managed, her dignity maintained and her family and friends supported. They are amazing places.

Brave decision to do the best for the zombie cats- someone will be very lucky to get them Smile.

Lots of people sending you love and strength zombie

UnbornMortificado · 19/01/2017 21:40

It's easy to worry (guilty of that myself) . Of course BBB is right and Zombie needs to look after herself not worry about anyone else's worrying.

If that makes sense.

How cheap are the cigs Fid? That could influence my vote. Although I need to quit so actually the more expensive the better.

PacificDogwod · 19/01/2017 21:44

Hospices are magical places - having said that, ours is currently being 'decanted' in to a crappy, little wing of a long neglected cottage hospital so the hospice building (which is very nice) can be renovated Hmm

Yeah for BiL and Sil! Yeah for Cat Lady! And double yeah for steroids kicking in quickly

I'm happy to be designated Translator of Deutsch for the German Phalanx Road Trip

Marcipex · 19/01/2017 21:53

Wishing you a comfortable night Zombie.

I'm alternating making squares for Candy's Hugs, squares for the Chernobyl project, and inventing things for the Woolly hugs spring craft sale.

I presume Germany will have some nice wool shops. I want more stripy sock yarn.

bookbook · 19/01/2017 22:00

Evening.
If you are reading,Z hope the steroids are kicking in and working, and you can rest painfree
Just put my needles down from knitting a square
Fids - my DD is 35 now, and advice for me when starting to bf - a glass of sherry or stout to help let -down :)

bookbook · 19/01/2017 22:03

good lord I missed a whole load of posts.....

MrsNutella · 19/01/2017 22:16

Fid if the people near you are friendly then I definitely need to move! Grin
here they would push past you without a second thought and "excuse me" hasn't yet been discovered. Plus you're in wine country..... here we have Currywurst. Damn!

Anyway Zombie thinking of you Wine

MrsNutella · 19/01/2017 22:18

Although I do love near the factory outlet for a nice fabric company... they make awesome jersey. The children don't know yet that I am a total novice at sewing Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 19/01/2017 22:25

Fantastic BIL and SIL getting you packed and ready to go Z.

And so glad you have a solution for Tink and Maisie that you are happy with.

Right, enough dithering, I will bite the bullet Shock

Fid has said she will host

Unborn says she will drive the charabanc (Phalanx needs poncy transport)

Germany it is!

I've had some secret consultations with KnottyandPistey, and it transpires that Z's WoollyHug has magic properties.

There is SatNav in the central square, just punch in Fid's co-ordinates Z, wrap the hug around you, and you will be transported to her forest Grin

So, all you have to do Unborn is pick up all the rest of us from all points in UK, I think one in Italy, one at least in Canada, a couple in Spain?

Anyone else PM Unborn asap.

How long do you need to get ready for us Fid? how about we arrive a week today?

All bring own bedding. Do we need tents? Brrrrrhh!!!

Love being bossy.

And delegating.

KissKiss.

HugHug.

Marcipex · 19/01/2017 22:32

BBB I think my DH will unfortunately notice if I pack the down duvet.

Also, how do I say 'where is your selection of stripy sock yarns please? ' in German.

UnbornMortificado · 19/01/2017 22:32

Sounds like a plan.

My driving is somewhat unique, I can't do motorways so it's country roads all the way.

Also someone else will have to park for me as I struggle with the micra.

I will however be sober.

So as long as there's no motorways or parking we are good to go.

OhTheRoses · 19/01/2017 22:40

Starts packing.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 19/01/2017 22:45

I can do motorways and parking. Mornings and afternoons.
Otherwise can't guarantee to be sober!

Marcipex Pacific has volunteered to be translator, she'll have that covered.
I have spare duvet for you.

Next! Wine

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 19/01/2017 22:54

I am the world's best parallel parker. I shall help with the parking

Packing.

BigApple11 · 19/01/2017 23:01

I'm packing too ....love a road trip! Who's up for a singsong?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 19/01/2017 23:06

I think we need a diagram of Fid's parking facilities so we can do some virtual practice Grin

Packed! Haha!

Phalanx up for anything Apple, I'll need a song sheet please.

Allalonenow · 19/01/2017 23:09

Here you go Marcipex
Wo ist lhre auswahlan stripey socken garne bitte? Grin Grin

cozietoesie · 19/01/2017 23:11

A singsong? Grin

I recall having a 'sing song' in a school coach and then someone suggested a title. I was just a tad surprised that they had heard of that song - I'd learned it from my father who sang it from his old Navy days - but Hey. I was up for it.

I didn't know that they had meant a 'young person's revivalist number' until I noticed that the whole coach had fallen silent and was listening to me with big round eyes.

I was singing the Navy song of course! Grin

Allalonenow · 19/01/2017 23:13

I'll be navigator, I've done many a rally around Germany, (don't worry Unborn you'll be safe with me).

I'm all packed too!
