Afternoon.

I'm still paying a very, very heavy price for Monday. Yesterday was absolutely dreadful for pain. My lovely cleaner worked miracles around me. She'd get one area spic and span, then helped me move to a chair there while she worked on the rest of the lounge. She also did 3 loads of washing - 2 loads of new bed linens and 1 load of pyjamas. The bed was freshly made with new mattress protector, fitted sheet, new duvet in new cover and pillows. She then helped me back into bed. The lounge has now joined the kitchen, loo and back hallway as presentable for company to see.

The cattery lady picked up Tinkerbelle and Maisie at 09.00. She can only keep them until next Tuesday as she has to go into hospital herself for an operation. She and my cleaner are both looking for a placement for them after that. As much as my heart would like to think they will come home again once the Hospice sorts my pain relief, my head tells me that it's best for both the cats and me if they find their new forever homes now.

Today is marginally better pain wise but still extremely uncomfortable. The Hospice nurse is due in a few minutes. I'll know what the next step is after she's been.

Zombie, can't think of anything to say that's at all useful but and know some stranger on the east coast is thinking of you.

Zombie I'm so sorry to hear how bad things have been for you. I hope that the hospice nurse is with you as I type this, and is able to sort things out for you quickly.

I'm certain your cats will find amazing homes with love and kindness. It will, I hope, be a weight off your mind knowing that they are happy, safe and looked after.

Have you considered the Cinnamon trust to take care of your Zcats? They may well be able to help provide foster care or a forever home. You must feel so sad about that :( But hopefully a lovely home will be found and they will have been lucky to have had such a wonderful Zombiemum to care for them.

Oh dear Zomb, so sorry to hear that your pain has been so bad. Hopefully they can get it sorted for you so you can have some pain free days. It must be so wearing to have constant pain. No - one deserves that. I think you are doing the wise thing regarding zombiecats, it will be something else you won't have to worry about, but I'm sure you will miss them. You are putting the cats before yourself which shows how caring you are. Hope hospice nurse visit is positive for you. 💐

Have you had a look at Blue Cross for pets, they seem to have a couple of centers in your area. Even if they can't help directly, they might have links for others who could help.

The Hospice nurse has just left. She will put in her report and get me on the waiting list for a bed. I will be admitted as soon as possible. If there is no bed available before next Tuesday, the Hospice Consultant will do a home visit then.

While she was here, the nurse heated up some soup for me. I only managed about half the bowl but that's more than I've managed in several days.

Zombie I do hope they find a bed for you soon.

Oh I do hope that there is soon a bed available for you Zomb. Once there they can then get on with sorting our your pain meds, hopefully when you aren't in pain you will feel more like eating, which in turn will build you up a bit and make a huge difference for you.
It sounds like you have hit the jackpot with your cleaning lady. Fingers crossed you get a call soon to say you can go in.
