Morning all. Just opened my post and have flyer and vouchers for Waitrose which opens in Sandbach on Thursday . I am very excited at the prospect of a nice supermarket with no idiot signs etc. So, can anyone tell me which things I must add to my shopping list as it has been 8 years since I moved north and have not been inside one since .

Just about everything they sell! I live 2 minutes from a Waitrose and spend an absolute fortune in there every week. Their own brand chocolate truffle ice cream is gorgeous! Enjoy your shopping!

Love Waitrose ! There's one opening up just down the road from me in a couple of months and am soooo excited (note to self: must get life, must get life)

Will probably just use it for yummy picky-deli things and treats as it is a bit out of current budget-range but well worth it. Are your vouchers for anything interesting??

codswallop · 21/06/2004 09:27

is it a morrisons revamped?

friends dh is in chrage of all that

Bagpuss30 · 21/06/2004 09:35

moominmamma, vouchers are £5 off if you spend £50 so will have to do a weekly shop .

coddy, is a revamped Safeway which used to be rubbish so I am expecting great things!

Where in Sandbach? Can all you Waitrose fans out there tell me whether it would be worth a trip from the next county once a month or so?

Oooh oooh - are they going to do Ocado home deliveries? I want the colour coded bags and 1 hour delivery slots and freebies like that lou33 is always going on about

Bagpuss30 · 21/06/2004 12:55

Marthamoo, is that the same as Waitrose.com? I am scanning the leaflet now as I type and can't see any ref to Ocado.

JulieF, it's where the old Safeway used to be, near the Wheelock Bypass.

Ocado operate in the south-east only, I think. They don't even get as far as here in Oxford. But waitrose.com are very good and operate here.
