I think my 19-month old may have formulated his first real joke and wondered whether anyone else had toddler humour they wanted to share. Here is j's joke: J (to me pointing at uncoiffed early morning barnet): "'Air"
Me: "Well done, that is mummy's hair"
J (taking another look and feeling hair): "Tree!" (laughs like drain)

Awwwwwww! Mines a little older (3 1/2) but when he was around 2 my mother commented on him being a 'bossy boots' he responded "no i aren't I'm wearing sandals"

Recently made a comment, and when I got a little flustered, (as he was being a little difficult and questioning everything) he flung his arms round me and said "I'm only teasing, Mummy."

My 3 year old has discovered knock knock jokes, but they make no sense and have no punch line! We frequently get:
ds: knock knock
me: who's there?
ds: you mummy! (followed by much laughter from ds)

Dd (2.5) loves to change lyrics of nursery rhymes etc. So we have 'Isn't it funny, how bees eat mummy'; 'Humpty Dumpty sat on mummy'; 'Mary Mary quite contrary, how does your mummy grow'; and her piece de resistance: 'You are my squirrel, my only squirrel' (sung to the 'You are my Sunshine' tune). All of these things provide giggles of hysterical proportions.

Not quite sure whether to classify this as a joke, but DP eventually (after much pestering) showed our 3¼ year old DS the rudiments of the game of chess. DS insisted on calling the bishops "the Belgians" - have no idea where he got that one from!

Some of these are so cute! (Enid I think your dd has definite songwriting talent!)

My ds (3y 2m) was watching Teletubbies this morning and said "Tinkywee-wee!" and laughed hysterically, repeating it over and over between fits of laughter. Oh dear, toilet humour already!

Dd (5yrs 7m) is into making up "why did the - cross the road?" jokes atm. Her latest was "Why did the kookaburra cross the road?" "To laugh at the chicken!"
