We are meant to be going to a pancake race at 2 but it's raining.

today - what is all this pancake race thing? We have to go to school and watch at 2:45 - didn't do this in my day!

We did.
It was Traditional.
We all had to put on gabardine mackintoshes and school scarves and go and toss them in some historic square because it had Always Been Done.
Pah.

Top tip for contemporary racers - tortillas are much easier to toss than pancakes and make less mess when you drop them.

I thought it was last week DD came home from nursery talking about pancakes so I assumed it was shrove Tuesday and made them. Had no idea it was today til I came on here.
