Ds was bought a rocking panda for his first christmas from PIL. He loves it but is now in the small bedroom so the girls can share. DD1 was ok with it until she pressed the ear on it by accident while getting up and it roars. She is now petrified of it...so what do I do as we have nowhere else to store it but dont want to throw it away.

  1. Take the batteries out. It should have small furry flap somewhere where they are concealed.
  1. Show DD that mummy has said to the Panda that it is naughty to burp (can you lighten it this way) and that he isn't allowed any more fizzy drinks (or something - anything light hearted and something she can identify with). Then press battery-less ear and tell panda he is very good as he hasn't burped.
  1. Move it into DS's bedroom?

There is no room in ds room as he is in the smallest room and has his toy gargage[from pil for 3rd bday] and a keyboard in there.
DD1 is only 14mths so doesnt understand the burp concept and also cant find where the blooming batteries are[how it has lasted 3 yrs I dont know].
Im going to have to get rid arent I I just think in a few months DD1 and DD2 will love it as much as DS does.

Do you have a loft that you can store it in until dd2 is old enough for it?
Maybe by then dd1 will be ok with it.

Freecycle it or pass it on to someone you know, it might come back one day.

lounge? hallway? shed?

Nemo2007 · 16/02/2007 16:08

Right have managed to pack it off to PIL...woo hoo..just found MIL and explained about Dd1 being to scared to get out the bed due to the panda etc.So she is going to store it for us as we are literally bursting at the seams here..small 3 bed semi with 3 very young children and lots of very big toys
= no room.
