No advice I'm afraid, but am also thinking of changing to Sky. I'm with BT at the moment and got an email from them saying that we'd gone way way over our download limit (dh got a video ipod for chrismas). They didn't charge for that month, but will from now on, so I want to get unlimited.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 16/02/2007 09:11

watch out with sky though cause if you get the free one you have a download limit.

SexyMadScientist · 16/02/2007 09:14

which is why I ask my other question about how much I am downloading. Am thinking about the 40Gb limit one for £5 or maybe unlimited one for £10 (I think).

can't answer that i'm afraid. can you call BT and ask them?

There have been a few threads regarding feedback on Sky broadband in the past month. We've been with Sky since October and have had no problems. check this out for more reviews . I'm very pleased with it. The £10 a month package has no download limit but we're on the £5 pakcage which has a limit of 40GB which is a lot! You just need to see how much you download on monthly basis (movies, music, programs) to see if 40 GB is enough for you. I can imagine you reach the 40GB limit only if you live with a couple of teenagers who download movies and / or loads of music files.

But I don't know how to find out what I download each month. I currently have no limit...

I am I am!

We moved over to Sky from Tiscali and although I've head other people have had problems, we haven't and it has been great.
I had problems with BT before Tiscali so i think it kind of goes with the territory.
We are on the most evpensive package as I didn't want to worry about limits etc but even so, it is still much cheaper than what we paid before.
Also, the good think with the most expensive package is they come and install it and sort out the wireless router included in the price so it was brilliant.
I would thoroughly recommend it - incidentally - it is only cheap because you are also tied into having a Sky package but if you have it anyway, then why not?
If I can help in any other way - just ask!

Hi SMS!
They don't cover all areas though, so better check

SexyMadScientist · 16/02/2007 20:40

No they don't cover me - when I asked they said up to 12m . I am going to stick it out with AOL for the next 12m at my new rate of £9.99/m

Just reviving this incase anyone has more too add or has switched recently.

Thinking of switching from BT to Sky - over the BT download limit again this month - have used 18gb
