Does anyone know how I might find out about local teenage mum groups or single parents or those families on really low incomes with babies on the way that I might be able to give my old things to which still have some life left in them.

Does anyone know how I might go about doing this. I'm not keen to put into a charity shop as people still need to buy the clothes and a cut of the moeny is always used up in admin.

I'm not being high and mighty and oh so wealthy or anything like that...I just want to pass things on...I've thought of freecycle but I guess the really dissadvantaged people probably won't have computers.

Any advice offered would be great Smile

My local sure start Centre has a clothes swap once a month. You can take stuff your baby has outgrown and take things you need. I've dropped off a few bits before and not taken anything. Give your local one a ring. They also swap maternity clothes too.

I asked my health visitor and she suggested the family centre in one of the less wealthy areas of town where she used to work. They organise the clothes by size and type and users of the centre can pick up what they need. I think Sure Start centres do something similar. I'd give your health visitor a call and ask.

You could see if there's a refuge nearby and ask them if they could use them. I usually give mine to our local refuge, they have a charity shop and the women (it is just for women) can go there and pick things they like so don't have to pay.

Does your local area have a baby bank? Like a food bank but for baby items.local professionals can refer families in that are vulnerable and in need.
Try googling baby bank network or baby bank to see if there is one near you.
