Civil Servants? Maternity Pay?

Are there any civil servants out there who can confirm to me that they are entitled to 9 months maternity leave at full pay as of April 01 2007?

I thought the civil service was going to do that, but have been told by HR (National Assembly for Wales) that I only get 6 months at full pay and 3 at SMP.

Boooooo! The official policy isn't out yet but I emailed them because I am impatient.

I'm afraid as far as I understand it it is 6 months on full pay and 3 on SMP and 3 with no pay.

Do I get 2x6 months if I'm having twins???

I think you should personally

Funnily enough a colleague is on mat leave just now & she's still waiting on guidance. They've told her 6 months anyway on full pay but not to bank on more than that. What branch are you in Bibi. I'm HMRC. When I was on leave it was only 16 weeks at full pay so it's better than that.
If you can hold one in for 6 months you migh swing it!

Mine have said 6 months full, 13 weeks SMP then 3 months unpaid. Boo, was hoping for the full 9 months. Any chance this could change before April? Btw, do you accrue leave during your 13 weeks SMP?
