Anyone got pg whilst using withdrawal method of contraception?

Just wondered how many people actually got pg without an ejaculation happening in the right place iyswim. 'They' always warn that sperm can leak beforehand but wondered how common it was IRL.

Yes I did but had a mc at 8 weeks.

my brother and his wife used to use withdrawal, they have 5 kids needless to say he's now had a vasectomy

my friend has had two babies in the last 18 months because she 'used' this method!

I thought only 14 year olds regarded withdrawal as an effective method of contraception!!

Ok.... the only thing I can say is that at the "sexual education" session we had at school when I was 15 (20 years ago!). They told us that withdrawal method was ridiculously unefective (and frustrating). So... I wouldn't even consider it a proper way of contraception.

Been using it for over a year now.

No babies.

We use a diaphragm sometimes when can be bothered.

But we're not a very fertile couple, either.

I would say only use it if you would be happy to have another child...if you really want some contraception go see the doctor.

I never did...but tbh I must be weird...have been known to do unprotected sex in my younger years (don't ask) and never fell pg...the only time I have fallen pg is when me and dh have been planning it...so, must be lucky.
However, I don't think it's a foolproof method and if you really don't want a Kid than you should use more then that! IT probably also depends a bit on how well the bloke can cntroll themselfs and knows themselfs...lol.

And I should say that 90% of the time we were using condoms, so it wasn't even like it worked for a while before I got pg.

Seriously, though, Fio. I think I've got a disease like PCOS or endo, going to see a GYN in fact.

we have used this method for 10 yrs, we have two children, that were both planned, so it can work, but maybe not for everyone

Me, twice. MC first pregnancy though, apparently didn't learn our lesson and was pregnant less than two months later. Now have a beautiful little 14 month old, but will not do the dirty without a condom.

It really shouldn't be used as a birth control method. It doesn't work because a lot of men have little ejaculates before the big one.

As a roman catholic it is what we usebut we are willing to deal with a baby if one came along so not a method of contraception I would recomend for people who 100% don't want babies. Dp and I been having sex for 4 years not - and quite often and no babies.I do combine it though with knowing my cycle.

Hmm, I would like another child, dp (so far) says no but we seem to be using this method this week having run out of condoms. Quite glad to see there's a realistic chance behind my evil little fantasy . And it would all be his fault too LOL.
