First period since c-section! Clots the size of golf balls, waking every hour to change saturated pads, can't stand up without feeling like Niagara Falls is happening in my pants!

Not sure how much is too much? Can't remember it being this bad last time . If I went to the doctors/hospital would they even do anything?

Call 111 op. That is very heavy. A pad an hour is extremely heavy.

If you're soaking a pad every hour, that does sound a lot. I would call doctor/111 for advice. How do you feel in yourself?

I don't want to worry you as it's probably not the same but there was a thread on here a week or so ago where the op was losing similar amounts of blood. Turns out she had a womb infection (I think) which turned into sepsis.

I would call just in case.

I feel ok apart from the bleeding, I did have an infection after my section and was on antibiotics, so that's quite scary that it could be back :-(

If you're soaking a pad an hour-please please go and get checked out.
You could have some retained placenta or an infection. You are susceptible after surgery. Don't dick about here, you could become extremely unwell.

Another bossy post to tell you to ring 111. That amount of blood loss is not normal and will make you feel very ill if it continues. A womb infection could quickly turn very nasty. If you explain you are soaking through pads every hour, doctors would take that very seriously.

I'd see the doctor again, I had this and it was because they left placenta inside me. My clots were a lot bigger though, more small apple sized.

Ok - I'm getting very worried now! I expected 'yeah, that's normal, it will settle, etc!)

I will wait an hour and see if it calms down, if not, will call someone!

111 won't think you are wasting their time. They'll go through your symptoms on the phone and give you advice, or a doctor will call you back to assess how bad you are and will make you an appointment at your local hospital or gp surgery.

I saw that old thread - the medical advice that poster got was "soaking a pad per hour for more than one hour - call for help." The poster delayed and was told that if shed decided to just go to sleep and see how things were in the morning she probably wouldnt have made it.

The other poster said she felt well enough that she'd have gone to work - call 999, 111 will call an ambulance for you anyway.

Like pps have said the other poster would have lost her life if she hadn't called.

Call 111 now no matter how fine you feel. You're losing a lot of blood.

I think she did go to work! For some hours!

She was then blue-lighted into hospital, rushed into a resus room where a team of four people spent hours on her, and had to be accompanied all night by a nurse doing one-to-one obvs.

The doctor who came in the next morning commented on how she'd given them all quite a night.

So, trying "not to bother anyone" was a bit of a fail.

It doesn't matter that you feel fine - the minute I didn't feel fine with sepsis would quite possibly have been too late, I was lucky to already be in A&E.
