Help me with my argument please!!

Ordered a cooker from Jones of Oakwood via the internet 1 month ago - paid by switch so they got the money immediatley - this morning DP phoned them and asked what was happening, they said to him to ring Zanussi as it was coming from there direct - anyway they said they were out of stock but had some coming in at the end of the week and so could deliver 21/23/25 June anytime between 7 and 7 (could not give us a specific time and could not say morning or afternoon either!!). DP cannot really afford to have the time off and anyway as we have to take DD to school it would mean we would both have to have the day off to ensure that someone was there - all for a fu*king cooker!!

I have the 22nd off anyway but we are not on their route that day and we both have the 1st and 2nd off but their answer to that 'Well we might be out of stock again by then' - I am insensed!!

They took over £700 from us 4 weeks ago and yet we get this level of service and rudeness and they expect both of us to have the day off cause they cannot tell us where on their route they are and approx what time they will get to us.

GGGGGRRRRR (We also ordered a new washer dryer and got that from hotpoint within 2 weeks no problem)

Anyway I am going to ring them and tell thenm that it is just not on but rather than go in both guns blazing I thought I wopuld ask you guys for some ideas of how to complain as best I can!!

grrr I had exactly the same from f*ing Comet when I bought a tumble dryer from them. They were totally rude and unhelpful. I agreed on a delivery date, then rang customer services on the day to ask approximately when it would be delivered - on the assumption that it was on the van and they would have planned their route. The customer service bloke point blank refused to give me the information. I ended up having a ridiculous conversation with him along the lines of

SM : "so you're telling me your van drivers don't have mobile phones and there is no way they can be contacted?"
Comet : "there is no way I can give you that information"
SM : "so give me the drivers phone number and i'll ring him myself. I'm sure he wouldn't mind"
Comet : "there is no way I can give you that information"
SM : "you're being very unhelpful, do you know that?"
Comet : "I cannot help you"

WANKERS!

I'm not keen on Comet, can you tell?

i guess you could try saying that the time that would suit you is ... and that rather than the delivery people come at a time when you're not in and basically waste a journey, you would appreciate if they could take note of what's best for you.

No they have planned their route - Imaybe 1st or last but they cannot tell me this - I just have to hang around!!

I am more insensed that they are saying that if I don't fit in with when they can deliver it they will justy deliver everyone elses no matter when they ordered and paid!!

Can't believe it!!

Is there some guarantee with your debit card (as with direct debit) where the bank will replace your money and take it from their account.

No apparently Jones have our money and Zanussi are being the pain in the arse and Jones do not give the money to Zanussi until they have delivered to us!!

Zanussi almost said that I was being difficult and they are really nice I mean anytime between 7 and 7 mon, wed or fri you must be able to be in one of thse days!!!

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!

If it is out of stock too they then have to do another production run adn will will have to wait for the bloody thing to be made!!

I too recently ordered products through Jones of Oakwood but no problem with them at all. However, I also ordered through another retailer a Zanussi washing machine and dishwasher and Zanussi were crap!! they first delivered the wrong dishwasher - I discovered it was the wrong one after they had left!!, they couldn't get me the one I wanted for 3/4 weeks because it was out of stock and when they did deliver a replacement, refused to take away the wrong dishwasher because that's somebody elses job ARGHHH!! the first dishwasher sat in our house for 3 weeks until I threatened to sell it on ebay!.
It's hard not to blame the retailer, but all operate the same. You ordered through them, they take your money and delivery is direct from the manufacturer.
Personally, I would contact Jones of O and ask them to speak to Zanussi direct to either push for an earlier delivery date or a different model if this suits you. Finally, with regards to delivery, they again are all the same, however some suppliers will give you a phone no so you can contact the driver on the actual day to see what time you are scheduled. HTH

I would call Jones, ask to speak to a supervisor and ask for your money back. They sold you something and regardless of where it gets delivered from, are responsible for delivery of the goods.
