In The Sun today ...we still have insulation tape around some of the flexes he chewed, he got through the white outer but not the coloured inner bits.

British flexes are more robust than American ones IIRC but it's worth keeping an eye on them.

DS2 is just a chewer - still chews pens, clothes, bits of paper, almost anything he can get into his mouth in fact, think we must have dogs in our ancestry - don't think most kids would do this, but anyone else who has a chewer (he is a picker too, dunno if that's connected) should be aware.

My DS1 is a chewer, picker, former thumb-sucker and now a biter of both fingernails and toenails. I can relate to this story, we caught him once chewing his way through a cable that his toy radio was plugged into (transformer so not the full voltage going through it), he was over three at the time (3 1/2 perhaps) and we thought he could be trusted after a long conversation with him about the dangers of electricity.
