My hubby was knocked down my a drunk driver 3 years ago whilst at work - he was trapped under car. Left him with 2 broken legs, minor head injuries, burns to chest and face and back of hand. He was in a wheelchair for a year (had 3 operations) now left with pins in both legs. Can now walk OK but cant kneel. I was 7.5 mths pregnant at time of accident . It was hell! In fact he has needed counselling which finished in November and anti depessants (finished in September). Just starting to get back to some normality now. Just had barrister value the claim - and valued it at 50,000 with a value of 80,000 for disadvantage on labour market for future earnings. The insurance co. are disputing 80,000 (dont think we will get any of 80,000). 50,0000 seems such a low amount to me for what we have been thro. We owe benefits 21,000 and already had 15,000 from ins. co. in interim payments and owe parents 9,000 - it leaves us with 5,000!! Anyone got any experience with this??? Need advice please.
