I am wanting to take ds (23 months) away for about 5 - 7 days. It will just be me and him as dh is working.
I can get a lift to my destination and back but whilst I am there I will be carless.
Has anybody got any suggestions for some nice places for me and ds. It needs to be in the south, south east, around there somewhere!

thanks

Bournemouth is great, if you want the beach.
Or Swanage area lovely.
New Forest? Maybe less to do with a little one..
Are you wanting a hotel, or caravan, or apartment....

OK, what about the Isle of Wight, carly? I know the public transport there is excellent, so getting to see the numerous beaches and child-friendly attractions is easy. You could take ds on a boat, hovercraft, bus, steam train and former tube train in the space of five days - working on the basis he is transportation-mad like lots of boy toddlers.
Broadstairs on the Kent coast is also a lovely, traditional, resort if you want a mainly beach holiday.
Arundel Youth Hostel (titter ye not) is run by a family and has all sorts of little extras for parents and kids including proper double beds and en-suite showers in some of the family rooms. YHA managers are adept at suggesting ways of getting around minus car and the resorts of Littlehampton and West Wittering are nearby.

Somewhere with beaches and countryside nearby. Animals + water are toddler heaven.

thanks for all the good ideas! Silly me was about to order a short break to Euro disney (quite ambitious!) then realised ds has not got a passport! That would have been embarrasing!
