Fed up with blooming Euro 2004 already and it's only the 2nd game. I can see mumsnet being my lifeline for the next 2 weeks!!!!!!

I have totally had enough of it already too. THe inane commentary and constant bloody racket is bad enough but we've also got non stop (and I mean NON bloody STOP) questions from 6 yo ds about it 'who's the best player? Who will win this match' etc. etc. etc. [pissed off face here]

woodpops · 12/06/2004 21:02

It's totally taken over TV. There's not even anything in Sky. Why do we pay all of this money for Sky each month for re-runs of Friends or Only Fools and Horses!!! Like you wickedwaterwitch we've got a 2yr old ds who everytime he sees a game shouts at the top of his voice daddys bootball. He can't quite get his 'F' yet. But that combined with the commentry and the constant drumming from the crowd is too much.

and the Test Match, and the Grand Prix....

I sympathise woodpops but subscribing to Sky is the only way we get any decent English speaking tv.

woodpops · 13/06/2004 17:52

You've got it in one. I swear the only follow so many different sports just to p**s us off. If only I get a look in on Sky it wouldn't be so bad. If it's not flaming CBeebies then it's the sports channels!!!

I don't think England loosing would dampen my dh addiction. He's in several different sweep stakes so has drawn numerous teams so will then be following their progress should England get knocked out!!! Mumsnet and Big Brother for me for the next fortnight!!!!!

Thursday's match is going to prove interesting. dh is planning to take ds (6) into his office to view the England/Switzerland match with colleagues. He works for a Swiss company in Switzerland but we are English. ds might have to wear England shirt but take Swiss one just in case !! [need a 2-faced emoticon]

At least I won't have to watch it !!

woodpops · 14/06/2004 10:23

I hate to admit it but I really enjoyed last nights match until the last 3 minutes that is. I even found myself shouting 'come on'.

Wimbledon is on soon to alleviate the football agony, I'm also watching the rugby in the old homeland in NZ... and we as a mother and son support France at footy, we are doing ok this week

poor twiglett - fairly lean tv month for you then petal!
big brother??

Gingerbear · 14/06/2004 11:12

I would rather pull out my toenails one by one than have to sit through a football game.

SofiaAmes · 14/06/2004 22:24

Ladies, ladies, there are decided advantages to football tournaments. Have you ever tried to go shopping during an england game? Even Ikea is deserted! I hope all the games are during shopping hours and england makes it all the way to the finals.
