you could do a note, people at our school do that sometimes. it's annoying when something goes missing, or could brown owl put up a notice?

Kbear · 06/02/2007 10:17

I would speak to the other parents outside when they are waiting to collect their dd - just ask if they could check their dd has the right top.

Brown Owl probably hasn't got time to check 30 tops.

yes give a note to all the kids. These tops are expensive so I'm sure the mums/dads will be helpful.

I personally wouldn't put in the bit about the one your DD got being more faded, just put a much smaller one.

Hope you don't mind me saying I think it's a bit long winded!! You just need to say "please check your DD has the correct jumper as my DD (name) brought the wrong one home by mistake and it's too small - many thanks".

Bucketsofdynomite · 06/02/2007 13:46

TMI, you sound a bit scary! Just write:
"DD got mixed up with jumpers the other week, please could you check your label for the initials DD. Brown Owl now has the smaller jumper she picked up by mistake.
Thanks, DD's mummy (tel....)"

nailpolish · 06/02/2007 13:47

yes i too think its a bit long winded

someone is probably delighted to have a new and bigger jumper, but if you hand out the note at least you have done all you can

hop eyou get it back x

and you KNOW parents don't read notes don't you! Tell you DD to ask her friends while she's there to have a quick look for the one with her name in!

nailpolish · 06/02/2007 13:54

brown owl sounds most unhelpful IMO

exactly - i would speak to her again and say that "cant you help me out here a bit more and ask the girls and/or their parents?"

"People are so lazy and unhelpful sometimes"!!!!!

Ok - this woman VOLUNTEERS to look after your child and others every week and gets no payment for this. I wouldn't call that lazy and unhelpful - I think guiding people are saints (and no I'm not one)

Kbear · 06/02/2007 21:13

tenbygirl - I thought that but bravo for saying it!!! She has lots of little girls to entertain and watch, there comes a point when you have to miss netball, go down there and speak to the parents as they collect their kids!

Bucketsofdynomite · 06/02/2007 22:07

Or offer to help out for a night and surreptitiously check every jumper you pass. You might even get hooked
