DS is in my bed...

So my DS (2) keeps waking up. Wee while ago he woke, and asked to come into my bed.

he's now just lyinh here, quietly watching me on the 'puter and not bothering much about getting back to sleep. He is instigating the occasional chat, but mostly hes just lying next to me.

Any advice on how to get him the hell to sleep, preferably in his own bloody bed!!

I think late night is not the best time to decide about strategies to work, better to investigate some options, choose the one you think suit your family better, and then, just then, start the process of teaching him to stay in his bed. I believe that the main thing to get them to follow the rules is to be consistent, it is no good to try something today and then something different tommorrow, it will only make the problem worse. So my advice is:

turn the lights off, don't speak, and just let him get himself bored to sleep, and then transfer him to his bed. Then start with a firm conviction when you are ready.

Thanks - only problem is i have work to do (involves a lot of downloading - hence filling in the time in between on here!) and so i have the light from the laptop..

And if i put him in his own room he is screaming..
