Posted on Education (Primary) thread but no replies so here's hoping......
Doing a bit of forward planning as at some stage we will probably move back to the UK with DS(4) and we own a house in Windsor. So we know Windsor really well pre DS but completely our of touch when it comes to Schools. I alway had my eye on The Queen Anne Royal Free CE Controlled First School, Chaucer Close. Any MNs out ther who live in Windsor and can advise?

firsts are all fine, it's the middle school that's a problem (there aren't any "primary" schools in Windsor). Some therefore go private/move at middle school point. You'll need to contact RBWM council for applcation form and choose in order (quite competitive to get the one you want)

oh just realised said he's 4. you should apply right now then if you'll be back for him to start school otherwise if he's post school-entry age (normally start term after they're 5 in windsor, unusally) I guess you'd have to make a late application for immediate place and cross your fingers but they're all v full! Check it out now, I would otherwise you may have little chance.

Thanks RanToTheHills. I've had a good look at the RBWM website, technically they won't let you apply under the normal system if you are returning to UK, so we would have to wait and take pot luck. I'll give them a call when the situation is clearer. Using our Windsor address wouldn't work as we have tenant in.
Yes I should have said First school, actually you're right it's the next stage of the education system that really worries me as I know there aren't any decent state options
Are you in Windsor?
