My DD has special needs so our OT always used to get her to touch stuff like:

dried pasta, penne, fussilli etc

mix up cornflour and water. (is that right???) It's like liquid but you can pick it up, am I making any sense at all???

water with sand in bottom and bury things in sand. (can also do this without water on top)

OPther ideas

  • stress ball
  • those plastic pom pom thignbs
  • a scourer
  • cotton wool

ooh fab. He's already really excited about the first few things I've put in. Found some lurid pink pan scourers in tesco and a lovely new wooden spoon. Shall go hunting for a nail brush and the like tomorrow. Thanks ladies

Also if you type Treasure Chests into the search on ebay, you can copy some ideas from the ones that are sold on there.
