piffle? aitch? not sure if you were treated surgically or with metho, but...

my midwife at my booking appt picked up on the fact that i had had a laparotomy when i had the ep surgery. she's flagged this and it has been picked up by the hospital -- have been asked to go in to see a consultant about the scar and any complications that may arise during the pregnancy/in labour

this wasn't mentioned at all when i had ds - not once

getting to the hosp with ds is a pain in the backside so i called them to discuss whether it was really necessary. in the end i cancelled the appt but they were full of "well it's your right to cancel but we strongly advise you to attend blah blah blah"

are they just being over-cautious? by the time i have this baby it'll be >4 years since the op and the scar has never given me any grief. did you have your scars checked over?

I had a laparotomy and not once while pregnant with dts was it mentioned as a problem. I had my ectopic 7 years ago (exactly on the 8th Feb) and dts were 5 at the end of December.

I have been told though, as I ended up having an emergency c-section, if I got pregnant again it might need to be elective c-section. I am positive they said they used the ectopic scar so I wouldn't have too many scars down there! But I was giddy on painkillers at the time so can't be certain.

Hope all goes well for you, even if this post might not be of any use to you!

No mention duringmy two pregnancies, but I don't think I had open surgery more key hole but I did have a tube removed, I also had both babies at a consultant unit alth that was due to other issues as well
