How do i find a decent cleaner?

want a cleaner for a couple of hours a week, just to do bigger things like bathroom and kitchen, maybe hoovering or windows, googled in my area, but only three cme up and they wern't even actually in my area?
was looking for a company rather than person as i thought this would be 'safer'?..any suggetions? and any idea of costs?

Blimey - if you actually KNOW a good cleaner I think I'd ask her !!! Obv you'd need it on proper professional footing - no favours or freebies - but you could TRUST her in your house !

On the other hand - do you actually know she is a good cleaner - coz the last thing you want is to have to complain to a friend about the standard of her work !!!

I would find it weird. I couldn't ask a friend to clean my fridge or clear the dustballs. It would just feel uncomfy.

nah!..i couldnt ask her, she was practically my mum growing up and i just couldnt!..i already look after one of her dd's children and thats awkward enough when it comes to money!
