My car has a built in sat nav

It takes a disk (CD)
It broke they want £200 to replace it

How?

I see that £200 is a normal price paid my Mnetters for a cd....sorry I was shocked

have you tried ebay? We don't have built in but managed to get replacement discs for ours for a fraction of the shop prces.

Katymac · 29/01/2007 16:10

Thanks for the idea - but no ebay seems to be nonfiat compliant

hmm, is it worth putting a call out for any mnetter fiat owners who might be able to copy it for you?

Ladymuck · 29/01/2007 18:17

But a lot of Sat nav units are around that price, and extra maps aren't cheap? And presumably whatever CD you get now will be more up to date than the one you originally owned?

Can't copy a broken CD but when you get a new one don't forget to copy it because you are allowed to have a back-up copy. Then if it breaks again, you can copy the copy and still have a back-up.

(DD is currently missing 2 CDs from HP books because Bloomsbury charge £7 per CD to replace them - for a bit of plastic and a plastic slipcover that would cost pennies to produce and we've already paid an arm and a leg for the original)

Ceolas · 29/01/2007 18:51

couldn't you nearly buy the unit for that price?

treacletart · 29/01/2007 18:58

have you checked ebay?

Katymac · 29/01/2007 21:44

Ladymuck is that is a reasonably price for a CD??

I have checked Ebay & nothing atm

I have put a call out on MN for a fiat uylesses (fingers crossed)

I think I could buy a new one for that price - but the satnav is in the dashboard and it has been lovely
